MEET MAUREEN

A third-generation romance reader, Maureen Anderson is a poet, writer, and author of the contemporary romance, November Rain.

A dedicated site-coordinator of a national young adult program, Maureen spends her free time writing poetry, romance and women’s fiction with diverse characters that thrive in a world outside her own. Her debut novel, November Rain, carries the reader from the streets of Harlem, New York to tropical San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Maureen travels around the United States and the Caribbean learning more about the places where her characters learn to love.

When she is not working out of a corner of her home and cafés throughout the country, Maureen sings soprano in her church choir, and loves to spoil her two sons and adorable grandson, Elijah.

Always drawn to creative ways of expression, Maureen plays the flute and loves to sketch, paint, and color.

COFFEE AND PENCILS

Sixty percent of my day, probably more, is spent writing. That time is divided between my home office, public transportation, libraries, parks, and coffee shops.

Writing on the road gives me the most joy. There are no limits to where I can write so before I venture out I research new and exciting places to explore. The writing comforts I look for are coffee, a table to set up my laptop or notebook, power outlets, windows, a restroom, and other writers. I created Coffee and Pencils to share my writing life and coffee shop ventures with my readers and other writers looking for a cool space to pour out their creativity.

My trips to coffee shops are not limited to my home town. If you have a place to recommend click on “Contact” and send me a message.

Ciao for now.
